French Toast Bites

French Toast Bites Butter Extra Virgin Olive Oil

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 thick (1") slices white bread, slightly stale
  • 2 large eggs 
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1-2 tbsp. OLiV Butter Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • Maple syrup to serve

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut bread into cubes.
  2. Whisk the eggs, milk and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Set aside.
  4. Melt 1-2 tbsp of Butter EVOO in a frying pan over medium high heat. 
  5. Toss bread cubes in the egg mixture and shake off excess egg mixture. Place the bread cubes in the frying pan until all sides are browned - about 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Remove the bread cubes from the frying pan and drop straight into sugar mixture. Toss to coat, then place onto a plate.
  7. Repeat with remaining bread cubes.
  8. Serve immediately, with maple syrup for dipping.
